The first weekend of February was a very special one. 10 Fire & Fragrance DTS Outreach Students were on outreach in Amsterdam (sent by our Kona base). Our friend Simone is one of the outreach leaders and before she went we proposed to her if the team was open to visiting my hometown, Vlaardingen, which they were.
My parents willingly opened their home for 8 young people and my sister accommodated the other 2 members of the team. For this short period of time my parent’s house became a YWAM base, which according to the team was an amazing hospitality (which I can completely agree with, but I am biased of course). Anyway we connected the team with two churches- one of which was the Dutch Reformed Church called “Grote Kerk”. On Sunday night the 10 young American missionaries ministered to approx 40 youth ages 13-25. They felt to share their testimonies and then to start praying for them. The Holy Spirit poured out and people were healed and received prophetic words and experienced intimacy with the Lord.
Here is a statement from one of the YWAM outreach team members:
..All week we had planned to do a practical-type teaching to the youth but by Sunday afternoon, we all felt that God wanted to do something totally different. So, we scrapped our plans and headed to the church open for what Jesus wanted to do for these young adults. I had the honor of sharing my testimony in a way that I never had before which was followed by a quick teaching on the presence of God before things went straight into power-of-God-demonstration. The Holy Spirit was released and miracles took place. Words of knowledge, prophecy, and physical healings broke out and about 40 kids encountered the tangible presence of God for the first time in such powerful ways. By the end of the night we had kids saying through joy-filled tears, “This night has changed our entire lives.” Revival is happening in this generation in the Netherlands!
And here is a statement from one of the youth leaders:
We are so excited with what the Lord is doing among the young people in Vlaardingen! Like the outreach student said- Revival is happening in this generation in the Netherlands!!
And I want to also appreciate my parents for hosting this group! I am blessed to have parents like this!
