Visiting my country
Visiting my country. Emigration- It is a weird phenomenon. 7 years ago I left the Netherlands. Lots is the same, but at the same time so much has changed. The past 3 weeks flew by.
First we were visiting my parents in the house I grew up in. So nice to stay here one more time before they move in only 2 weeks time! Visiting the Church of the Nazarene and visiting the Vacation Bible Club of the Protestant Church and then visiting family and friends.
After this we spent a week in the forest as a family. Beautiful time of refreshing, recharging and finding our routine. Sunday we went to the Redeemed Christian Church of God in Apeldoorn. It is an African Church. this was a beautiful experience. Dancing in the worship time made me look forward to Africa!
After this we visited YWAM Heidebeek where we are connected through the MemberCare program. Every time we are in the Netherlands we visit them and share how things are going. Hope said “She didn’t like it so much because all we did was talk” but it’s that kind of talking that we actually really enjoyed :-).
Then we spent 3 days visiting YWAM Amsterdam where I had never been before. It was so much fun to see friends and hear and see all that is happening there. At their community gathering Jackson presented the gospel by heart for one hour. This was such a privilege. Also we made a trip through the canals by boat. The children were very excited with this adventure.
Last Sunday we were in Ermelo where we had a great conversation with Mattheus van der Steen. So exciting to see all he is doing and explore a future connection with the African Bible Safari.
