The African Bible Safari has begun

The first week of the “School of Massive Evangelism Movement” brought together 48 pastors from across Cameroon including 5 delegates from Nigeria. The Safari 16 team spent the first week getting adjusted to their new life and put everything in place to prepare this training. There was a major setback in the accommodation and venue falling through, but God provided at the last minute a beautiful hotel hall for this conference. Now the pastors just finished their first week of training and here is their report of what happened:

The African Bible Safari staff members have been in Limbe for over a week now. The unity in the team is strong, and our team members are all adapting well to the way of life here. We have been welcomed warmly by the Cameroonians, and have already seen God’s provision and favor upon our lives. In the duration of one week, we have grown in trusting God as a team and seeing his guidance and praying in the harder moments. The communication within the team is very open and the team members are able to share their hearts together. We have been looking at Acts 2 and feel that our house should resemble the first believers’ community.

The preparations for the African Bible Safari have been made, despite some unforeseen obstacles. For example, we were spontaneously blessed by renting the local Holiday Inn Hotel conference hall, when our expected location had cancelled. This hall has AC and enough space for all the participants. The locals, Elder Wilson and Reverend Mua, have been a huge support and aid in all of the preparations, as well as Jackson’s brothers and sisters. They all have worked relentlessly for the African Bible Safari to run smoothly. We are so blessed and amazed how they continuously give and serve the African Bible Safari and our team. Spending time together has been an eye-opener to the African culture and their heart for God and Cameroon.

Since Monday morning, around forty pastors, church leaders, professionals (engineers and journalists) have gathered in the Holiday Inn, Limbe. The atmosphere in the conference is very special: the participants are so humble and thirsty for all the teachings. The Lifestream and Jesus Film equipment have truly amazed them and they are also very interested in the Aquaponics teaching.

To understand the concept of the seven spheres of the society, the participants needed some extra time. It appeared to be thought provoking to them that there are other spheres, beside the church, that have influence and can make decisions, like the government or family. Now, after day two the teaching, there seems to be a better understanding; the group discussions are highly valuable in aiding the attendees to fully understand.

The participants have shared what they realized they need to do. This includes, encouraging business men, teachers, and other professions in their churches to rise up and live their calling in a Christ-Like way in their sphere.

Although the participants come from different countries (currently Cameroon and Nigeria) and church denominations, the atmosphere is filled with love for one another and true interest. Since this morning, our guest speaker, Steve Gregg, and his wife, Dayna Gregg, have arrived in Cameroon to share what is on his heart. Steve has been sharing his journey and passion for the Bible, and having an intimate relationship with God.

This week, members of the staff team will visit orphanages around Limbe and organize the training for the kids. On Friday, we plan to use our Lifestream equipment to distribute the Jesus Film via wifi.

Limbe is a port city. Here the team is visiting Seme beach (where my parents stayed when Jackson & I got married)

Half of the team will be working with orphans so they spent their first week visiting the orphanages

PERSONAL SUPPORT TESTIMONY

Last year we asked for an increase in monthly support of 800$ in October as our costs had gone up that amount. We are thrilled to announce that we now have 800$ a month extra in monthly support by 4 different people which is AMAZING. This has been such an encouragement to us as we wanted to be obedient to the Lord by staying in Kona but at the same time couldn’t afford to stay here with the increase in expenditures. As we communicated this 800$ is to cover our monthly costs that increased so we will still be communicating to you about outreach expenses that are not a part of our regular budget.

INVITATION TO BE PART OF THE SAFARI 16

The African Bible Safari is going to require multiple trips this year by Jackson and we hope to be able to do a family outreach for us all in the spring (followed by visiting the Netherlands).
The trip Jackson is on, is one we bough the ticket by faith (2300$). You can be part of this trip by contributing towards the 5,000$ he needs in total for this outreach.
We estimate to need another 20,000$ for our family outreach this spring. If you would like to donate with tax deduction towards our trip costs for Safari 16 check out the link on our website.

Thank you so much for your generosity and prayers!

Much love

Jackson & Anneke, Hope, REJoyce and Kyndness Ndecheck
