Dear Family & Friends,

I am writing this update at our new desk in our new home! Yes we have moved in, cleaned our old place and have unpacked each box we had in the new one. Though there are always more shelves to “organize” everything has a place now and we are soooo excited about our home!

It was overwhelming to find out we actually have 2 bathrooms and a kitchen with a stove. What you can imagine is that there are 3 hotel rooms adjacent to each other with doors in between. One of the rooms is the master bedroom with bathroom which also has 2 desks! Where Jackson and I each have our own work space. Then the middle room is a kitchen/living room with also a full bathroom (as it was originally a hotel room). Then there is another door to a third room which is the girl’s bedroom and the front section is the laundry room. This laundry room is used for other guests as well, but since it is next door to their bedroom this is extremely convenient for a mom trying to do laundry with the kids at home. Normally it would be a whole adventure of getting the kids plus the laundry out of the house to the laundry room and back, but now it’s just right out of the door!

The floor space is about twice that of our previous home and we notice this especially in the living room. We had 15 people over last week and we could all fit in the living room. We love having people over so this is such a blessing to be able to cook and bake with a full stove.

Jackson has enjoyed starting this new job- he starts the day with a team devotion where all the volunteers that work at the GO Center come together for a time of prayer and worship. This is at 7am. Then they begin their routine of cleaning and housekeeping from 8am. Jackson then starts his other responsibility with the Word by Heart school where they will receive the new students this coming Thursday! When the reception here closes Jackson’s job continues as he does late and weekend arrivals of guests when they were unable to pick up their room key during reception hours. This doesn’t happen every day, but when it does he will go out to welcome them and help them with their luggage.

Hope will be starting her Keiki Corner orientation on Thursday after which she will be doing this 3 mornings a week like last year. One day a week I will go with her and the other two days she will be on her own. It’s such a fun program and we are looking forward to the routine. Hope is extremely helpful around the house- we cook together, wash dishes together and this morning as REJoyce spilled some water Hope ran by herself to get some towels to dry it with. It’s so precious to see her develop those skills. She still loves to read books and do crafts so she is my stay at home girl! Many times Jackson will want to take the girls out so that I can get some cleaning or work done but often Hope protests that she’d rather stay home and help mommy. She also had a little victory at the swimming pool yesterday where she is now able to jump with her floaty all by herself! (her head goes under and then comes up again, but the going under part used to be scary for her). The smile on her face at reaching this milestone was worth a million- of course we are very proud of her.

REJoyce is a joyful and spontaneous little girl who is very determined in all aspects of life. The other day I was reading Bible to Hope and invited her to join, but she didn’t want to. Then minutes later she had found a whistle and was blowing it right in front of us where we were reading. Of course this was very funny, but I still kept on reading. Then she just climbed on my lap on top of the Bible so I was forced to stop reading and look at her and tickle her and she just giggled the whole time. That’s our REJoyce- so creative and spontaneous and funny! She is talking words now and one of her cutest expressions is : “Oh-O” when she drops something… One of her latest achievements is that she is able to eat cheerios with milk all by herself with a spoon. For a 15 month old I was quite impressed.

Personally I have had two meetings in the past week with Loren and with Darlene. Those were great meetings where we were able to do a lot of work. They both just came back from Singapore where 400 YWAM leaders were meeting together to seek the Lord for vision and strategy for this next season. YWAM does many things, but underlying is the Great Commission: to go to all the people in the world and preach the gospel and to disciple nations. In the past this was seen as going to every nation on earth (which YWAM has done), but it is quite the difference if you go to the a small island country or to China. So the Lord gave vision for 4k which has divided the world into “omega zones” that each have their own language and people and are of a comparable size. The world is divided in 4000 omega zones where if we as the body of Christ can make an impact in all of them everybody would have access to the Gospel. You can read more about 4k at 4kmapping.com. Leaders that went to this gathering said they were so touched seeing the variety of people but yet how much connected they felt like in a family. YWAM has well over 26.000 full time staff volunteers  worldwide and yet it feels like family wherever you go. It’s a privilege to be a part of such a unique organization.

With our move we have several specific needs for our home:

–          Curtains (9 panels)

–          Bedsheets (king size)

–          Oven- cookie baking sheets

–           Showercurtain (2)

–          Table cloth

The children are in need of:

–          Tableware

–          Craft supplies

If you would like to consider a financial donation towards those or a Target/Walmart giftcard that would be so appreciated!

Blessings,

The Ndecheck Family
