It was unexpected
Jackson initially flew to Cameroon on a 3 week trip where he had organized the African Bible safari Conference where David Hamilton and Paul Dangtoumda were main speakers (see left and middle in this photo). Our dear friends Lisi and Anna (all in the photo) were key in coordinating the practicals on ground. It was such a remarkable time in the 3 locations where church leaders and Christians gathered together and were equipped. Amazing doors opened and there was this partnership of YWAMers with Pastors and the Christians in the Spheres as they all focused on “End Bible Poverty Now in Africa!” which focuses on oral bible recordings, evangelism, and discipleship.

In November a team from FLAG (Faith and Law Around the Globe) was scheduled to come and run three conferences which will build on the conferences this team has done this time focusing more on leaders in legal profession and government as well. The pastors and leaders that have been working with Jackson and the team are so eager for these conferences. However Jackson was not planning to be there in person. After some wise counsel he was challenged to see this through till the end, so that this team can really accomplish the mission and we can press in to all that God has for Cameroon in this season!

Practically speaking this meant changing the 3 week trip into a 6 week trip. He will now come home on November 15th (he left on October 7th). My brain can’t even begin to think about how long that is, so we took time to pray as a family. The girls immediately were like “yes daddy can go for 20 more nights” and Jackson and I both felt it was the right sacrifice to make. God will give us the grace and help we need as long as we are being obedient to Him.

The Delta Miracle
As I was changing Jackson’s ticket I called Delta and went through the options. We had 2 separate tickets to get him from Cameroon to Kona and both would need to be changed. She informed me that the ticket change fare was 200 for domestic and 300 for international and that the price difference in international ticket was 220$. A total of 720$. I was like “wow” then she said why do I need to change this ticket again? I said, well because my husband needs to lead this team coming in and he wasn’t planning on it initially and she was very puzzled so then I explained we were missionaries and she asked what kind of missionaries and I told her about being a Christian and with YWAM. She then talked to her supervisor and they WAIVED the change fees. So we now only have to pay 220$ instead of the 720$! That’s a 500$ miracle right there and it was the Lord really confirming this next step.

Will you partner with us?
Now that the trip is twice as long, you have twice as much time to think about partnering with us in prayer and finances!
PRAY
For those who committed to pray for us daily, I hope you will continue to do this for 3 more weeks! The children and I are feeling so much grace and things are going so well in Cameroon. Every time I talk with Jackson I am just sensing so much “joy” over what is happening there.
FINANCES
Still our financial situation really worries me. It has not happened often that the Lord really guided us to put things on credit Card and borrow from firends. This is really very difficult and a humbling process. Still God is who He says He is. He is faithful, our provider, and He is good and much more than that. We are grateful He has prompted many of your hearts to give to us a family with your finances.
Now that Jackson’s time in Cameroon is extended this means added costs for him as well on top of the initial estimate of $5000 making it more around $6000. We have received 1620$ so far and are unsure of what has been sent through YWAM in the Netherlands as we don’t see that till November.
