We are on a wild ride this new season!

It almost feels like a slip n slide. Things are changing so fast, it is fun at the same time, you are aware that there are greater risks involved. Faith has had to increase to a real level of trusting in the Lord, letting go of the supposed “control” you have on your life and holding onto Him.
To help bring you up to speed: We have applied for a new visa!
We are applying for Jackson from a student to a religious worker status. Now that he is finishing his degree this change of status will enable him to continue serving at the University of the Nations in Kona as a missionary by teaching, preaching and leading schools. I will be on his visa as a spouse and can volunteer my time to the mission as well. I have actually just started working again assisting Loren & Darlene. I am really looking forward to learning from them this new season and Kyndness enjoys being part of the new trips to the office.

All of this work is unpaid, just to help clarify. We are missionaries living by faith on gift income. We are so grateful for our friends and family who have chosen to take part in the call of God we are pursuing by physically going- your gifts make it possible to keep going!

A NEW BUDGET

In that light we would like to share with you an increase in our monthly budget and the factors that play a role in this. We would like to invite you to pray and ask what your role is as you stand with us in this new season. The mountain seems so “big” that I don’t even know how it is all going to happen but trust that He will make a way. Here is the story:

The UofN Kona Campus where we serve continues to grow as more missionaries are being trained and equipped for the nations. This is great news, but with this increase there is also an increase in costs. for a very long time there has not been any increase in housing costs or food costs by the campus, but after a time of praying and pondering of the campus leadership and staff a mutual decision was made to do our part in terms of the finances for the corporate. We wholly support this decision and believe this will enable the campus to grow and develop in order to train more missionaries for the nations. But practically there are several implications for us as a family:

For all of us this means that by October 1st we will have to pay for all our meals on the campus (or buy our own food). For our family this cost is 400$ a month.
There is also an increase in the house rent we pay. This will increase with 100$ per month for our family starting January.
There is also an increase in a contribution to the corporate costs of 150$ per quarter (50$/month).
Then Hope has started preschool which is already at a discounted rate of 250$ per month.
Just these 4 factors contribute to an 800$ per month increase in our budget not taking into account the increase in our budget from now being a family of 5.

Just this coming week alone by October 1st we need 5000$ to get us current on our fees and started for October. It is time for a miracle…!

Will you join in this adventure?
