In October 2013 together with a team of 5 friends we travelled to Cameroon for a water & medical outreach. In Jackson’s childhood village we dug a well with the donated Flo Flo machine we had received in the Netherlands and a medical clinic was held for the villagers.
368 adults and children were screened, diagnosed and treated during this time. One of those children was Nellie who had an infection below her eye. It seemed a “minor” thing, but when our pediatrician examined her she diagnosed beginning meningitis and if she would not treat it properly she could die in a week. Thankfully the team had the treatment with them and she received the treatment. The entire outreach was funded by donations.
